Christian Education
Advent
offers a variety of opportunities to grow spiritually and in the knowledge of
God's word.
Sunday
School:
Classes meet Sundays (except during Summer) at 9:30 am for ages 3 through adult.
Vacation Bible School:
A one-week VBS is offered each summer, check our calendar for dates.
Bible Study:
Pastor Sorcek teaches a women's Bible class on Wednesday at 10:00 am. There is
also an adult Bible class on Sunday at 10:45 am.
First Communion Instruction:
A five-session program is offered each Lent for students in the fifth grade.
Confirmation Instruction:
Advent's confirmation program is for 7th and 8th grade youth. The first year
(7th grade) program offers an overview of the Bible. The second year (8th grade) class studies
Martin Luther's Small Catechism to learn basic Christian teachings. Confirmation
class youth are expected to participate regularly in worship, Sunday school and
a one-hour class on alternating Monday evenings throughout the school year.
